[…]So, obviously I should be sleeping. But instead here I am, practicing my cursive, and thinking that this time could be better spent by writing a letter to my grandma - who’d much rather hear from me than a journal with no thoughts or feelings beside my own.

Why can’t I write anymore? It’s beginning to make me sad and I feel like there is a void. I need to do something about it.

*my eyes are still tired,

and this fluorescent light helps none.

this far along,

though,

i’ve realized

that sometimes the

brightest lights

can be the worst kinds.

it melts your brain, from outside

just when you thought you had

the thicker skin.

they breathe you out,

quickly as sin.

just when you thought you were

being

breathed in.

after a time, it’ll come

to you

(as no surprise)

that

sometimes, the brightest lights

easier to lose

faith,
